“Dreams and reality are opposites,
action brings them together”
Maison Fraykeh is a place that will endure over time, that will support its community through an associative structure that will enable the funding of poetic acts; and that we will carry within us, through a wealth of shared memories. With its stone walls, large windows and vaulted doors, it is a resistance to the context that surrounds it. A place that defends tranquillity and emptiness, to give space to the movements of the body and the metamorphosis of the soul.
Maison Fraykeh will be a place of deconstruction, like the cocoon through which silk glass can liquefy while retaining its memory, before being reconsolidated once again. It will be a place for people to pass through, a place where they can recharge their batteries, and a place for their environment: An invitation to abandon oneself in complete safety to gravity, to urgency, to get in touch with the earth; the essential. A place for practising an “ecology/yoga of the emotions” through theatre, dance, somatic practices and the imaginary. An invitation to cultivate environments that are internal as well as external, physical as well as psychological. The Maison des arts et de la culture Fraykeh will be a porous place and, above all, a habitat of being.
